HMoob Inspired Dress

This dress was created and designed by a Mount Mary University alumni as part of her Hmoob stripe collection.
“The dress is part of a larger collection that is inspired by traditional HMoob pieces. I often associate HMoob clothes with the words ‘time and care’ because there are always many pieces to wear in-order to fully be in your HMoob clothes that have been made over time by parents (mostly mothers) and, although things change, the same pieces emerge: the shirt, the sev, the siv, and the paj ntaub. The dress is a contemporary take on the sev and also draws inspiration from the HMoob stripe clan, with its many layers of fabric piecing to create the stripes you see on the front panel of the dress. This dress is part of a greater collection symbolizing the many pieces of clothing worn by women.”
