“This past Thanksgiving 2020, our families gathered. Like many others, this year was very difficult. HMoob New Years were cancelled so we had the great idea to dress up in HMoob clothes for Thanksgivings. My mom loves dressing us up in HMoob clothes, so she dressed up her granddaughter. As I was documenting this moment, my niece asked about the many HMoob pieces and layers, as any 3rd generation HMoob-American would. To her she felt so distant from this identity so having her be curious felt good.”
