Shaman’s Tool

Wisconsin Historical Society

2021

Txiv Neeb and Niam Neeb (shamans) typically have these objects on their altars when they perform healing rituals. These objects include: nruas neeb (gong), kuam (split buffalo horns), tswm neeb (finger rings) or txias neeb (ring circle). Shamans usually keep a txheej txam (chisel tool) to create the joss papers that adorn their altar.
